Of the 22 degree-awarding institutions, five were among the world’s top 200 universities, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020: the University of Hong Kong (35th), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (47th), Chinese University of Hong Kong (57th), City University of Hong Kong (126th) and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (171st).
