Medical and Health Officer (Special Registration)

Department of Health welcomes non locally-trained doctors to join our medical team to build a healthy Hong Kong.
With the amendment of law, a new pathway is available for eligible non-locally trained doctors to apply full registration after obtaining specialist qualification in Hong Kong without the need to take the Licensing Examination and go through a period of assessment.
A Special Registration Committee is established under the Medical Council of Hong Kong to determine the list of Recognised Medical Qualifications (RMQ). The list of RMQ can be found at https://www.mchk.org.hk/english/registration/recognised_medical_qualifications.html. If you are a Hong Kong permanent resident and graduate from a medical school in the RMQ list, we welcome you to join the Department of Health in serving the community of Hong Kong via special registration route. Should you be successfully employed as Medical and Health Officer, you will be offered the same civil service status and benefits as locally trained doctors.
There are no closing date for this application. See here for vacancy details. Online application can be made through the Civil Service Bureau's website at www.csb.gov.hk.
